Women’s Empowerment: Women Helping Women with A Kamloops Life Coach
Women’s empowerment is characterized by women helping women. As a life coach in Kamloops I love empowering women. This morning I took a walk with a fellow Kamloops life coach and shared ideas to help her grow her business. As women in community, it feels great to help each other, instead of competing, because when we lift each other up, we all rise higher. I love coaching life coaches and helping them to create sustainable, authentic businesses. If you are looking for a life coach mentor, schedule a call and let's talk about how I can help you take your business to the next level!
Why is Women’s Empowerment Important?
You are strong, independent and resourceful, and you will absolutely achieve incredible things, and you will get further, faster with support. Women’s empowerment is that extra boost that will help you achieve your goals.
As society has evolved, gender roles have morphed and for the past century men have dominated. This has led to gender inequality including massive pay gaps and a glass ceiling for women. We are now in the age of Aquarius and the divine feminine is becoming once again more prevalent, this is a wonderful time to celebrate womanhood and come together to celebrate our power. Masculine energy tends to be competitive, whereas feminine energy is all about empowerment and women helping women.
During a television interview with Tanya Cronin of Kamloops' very own CFJCTV Midday, I spoke about the power of women in community, and how we can make each other stronger with accountability, reassurance and inspiration;
Accountability
Our friends help hold us accountable to our goals and priorities, reminding us of what matters most.
Reassurance
Being part of a community offers reassurance by showing that others share similar struggles, reminding us that we're not alone.
Inspiration
Engaging with diverse ideas and experiences within a community can inspire us to step out of our comfort zones and try new things.
In this article I will dive deeper into how women’s empowerment will help you achieve your goals. As a life coach in Kamloops I know that no matter if you are looking to expand your business, get a promotion, or improve your relationships, coming together in intentional community with other women will help you.
I was witness to the power of women in community while I was hosting the Elevate Your Spirit Women’s Retreat in Sun Peaks this spring. Coming together in circle for 3 days we created a sacred bond where each woman felt empowered and safe to share her story. The empowering women’s retreat was attended by a diverse group of women from different backgrounds and ages. Each woman came with her own hopes and fears, and everyone was united in a desire for a better life. The yoga and wellness retreat provided the space away from the day-to-day for each woman to explore her needs and desires, and to create an intentional plan for her future. Women’s Empowerment Provides Accountability
During the closing ceremonies of our retreat I invited the women to choose a way that they would create calm in their day, and then to share that intention with the group. By speaking your plans out loud you create a stronger commitment to taking action and following through. You can even take it one step further and have a pact as accountability buddies to help remind each other of your goals.
Think about where you can find community to declare your intentions and create accountability for yourself. Perhaps you attend a women’s networking event such as the one I am speaking at in Kamloops on May 7, maybe you tell your best friend that you are going to walk 10,000 steps a day and share your tracker with her, or perhaps you make a public declaration of your intention. Last year I was interviewed on Sarah Williams’ amazing Tough Girl Podcast and when my inspiring episode aired recently I was reminded that I committed to setting off on a cross-Canada RV trip in October 2025.
Women’s Empowerment Provides Reassurance
As a life coach and confidence coach, many of my clients ask me how to overcome imposter syndrome. I remember suffering from imposter syndrome early in my career and asking a senior colleague if they ever felt like that. I was surprised, and relieved to hear that even in their 60s they felt the same self-doubt that I was experiencing in my 20s.
Knowing that others are having the same experience as you, or that they have been there and got through it, is extraordinarily empowering.
One retreat attendee shared that the most impactful moment of the weekend for her was “Sharing openly and safely with the group, being accepted by others, and being ok to share my emotions.”
“Sharing openly and safely with the group, being accepted by others, and being ok to share my emotions.”
All too often we try to bury our feelings and ‘tough it out’. When women come together in community and allow ourselves to be vulnerable, we receive reassurance that we are not alone, and that this too shall pass. Check out this podcast episode where I explain why it is so important to step out of your comfort zone to accelerate your professional growth and improve your personal life.
Getting out of your comfort zone and becoming part of a community such as a networking group or attending a retreat will help you overcome imposter syndrome, gain confidence and achieve your dreams.
Women’s Empowerment Provides Inspiration
One of the most fun aspects of women helping women is that we have the capacity to inspire each other. It may surprise you to know that you are an inspiration to others too. An inevitable side effect of women’s empowerment is that we inspire each other to do more and be more. Something you say might plant a seed that grows into a big idea for someone else. You may meet a sister who has undertaken the exact bikepacking tour you dream of doing and her adventure inspires you to stop fantasizing and to start planning your trip.
Seek out sources of inspiration and fill your days with stories of women doing things that make you feel empowered and confident. If you love the outdoors, definitely subscribe to The Tough Girl Podcast which is all about motivating and inspiring you, while increasing amount of female role models in the media especially in relation to adventure and physical challenges. If you dream of being a doctor, follow women doctors on social and reach out to get a mentor. If you don’t know what you want to do, spend time hanging out with women and hearing their stories.
